"Thunder" premiered in 1996 at Dalhousie University and was broadcast on CBC Radio Drama in 2001. The piece has five movements: 1. They Say; 2. 1963; 3. Twin Cities; 4. Black Dog; and 5. Vanishing.

The pitch material for the composition is derived from seven notes: F-sharp, G, G-sharp, B, C-sharp, D, and E (at concert pitch).
