“Dan ran, zigzag, as bullets ricocheted around his swerving body. With a desperate leap he fell into a trench as his fellow soldiers cheered. Suddenly he sprang into view and with a swift, smooth movement flung a grenade into an enemy bunker. There was a blinding flash and a deafening roar followed by a deathly silence, interrupted by more cheering. Grinning, Dan charged into the smoke…..”
