Item is a reproduction of a photograph of the original building on the property of the Provincial Farm/School of Agriculture which burned down in 1898. This became the site of the Nova Scotia College of Agriculture, Harlow Institute is now on site. There is an octagonal swine barn that was built by students 1891 and was removed before 1913.
File contains a photocopy of a newspaper article with a black and white photograph of the 1945-1946 Nova Scotia Agricultural College hockey team. The caption is in regards to a reunion of the Truro and District Hockey League that took place May 9, 1992 [?] at Keddy's. The caption underneath the photo states: "The Nova Scotia Agricultural College champions of the Truro and District Hockey League in the 1945-46 season, will be among teams represented when the league holds its reunion May 9 at Keddy's. The NSCDI was established by the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Marketing for the purpose of coordinating and conducting investigative studies associated with forage, grain and vegetable production. Of the nine member of the Board of Directors, two members were to be from the Plant Science Department of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, one of those people who serve shall be the Head of the department. Included are field trial reports of the Nova Scotia Crop Development Institute. The field trial reports highlight information on various field crop trials with details on seeding date, date of harvest, fertilizers, field location, previous crops, management, objectives, and conclusions. Also included are the 1990 terms of reference of the Institute, list of Board of Directors and meeting minutes of monthly and annual or inaugural Board of Directors meetings from May 22, 1990 - June 5, 1992.
Item is a report on the Cuban trip of Nova Scotia Agricultural College delegate attended written by Dr. W.A. Jenkins, Nova Scotia Agricultural College principal. The trip was sponsored by C.U.S.O., M.I.N.E.D., and N.S.A.C. and was made in response to a request from the Cuban government to Canadian University Service Overseas. There was a schedule for the 5 week visit arranged by the Division of Agricultural Technical Education. The report includes 3 pages of recommendations to the Cuban government regarding their agricultural education infrastructure and an appendix of the work plan, or schedule of activities of the 5 week Cuba visit.

The records relate to the library naming which took place in 1990 in honour of Dr. Herbert F. MacRae, who was the principal of the college from 1972-1989.
File contains invitations both from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (3 copies) and from Canada Post to the launch of the Commemorative stamp for the Nova Scotia Agricultural College's centennial anniversary February 14, 2006. The event was held at the Alumni Theatre in Cumming Hall at 10 am. Dr, Garth Coffin, past principal was the Master of ceremonies and current president T. Philip Hicks unveiled the stamp along with The Honourable Robert Thibault and Mr. Wayne Quinn, Regional General Manager - Atlantic Canada Post. Also included in the file are two Official first day overs compliments of Canada Post Corporation, they feature the stamp issued.
