Carstairs was in Halifax for Dalhousie's first Homecoming lecture of 1986, where she spoke with Alexa McDonough of Nova Scotia's New Democratic Party (NDP) about women in politics. Carstairs also spoke with CKDU's Adrienne Scott about her career in politics. The interview aired September 30, 1986 and was rebroadcast September 30, 1986 on Title Waves; October 1, 1986 on The Evening Affair; and October 24, 1986 on Title Waves.

The strip was about to start appearing in The Gazette, the Maritimes magazine for gay men and lesbians. The interview was conducted by CKDU's Brenda Barnes. The episode was recorded on August 8, 1991, and was broadcast on August 22, 1991, August 27, 1991, August 29, 1991, and September 17, 1991 on Title Waves, The Evening Affair, and The Word Is Out, CKDU programs.
