Item is a journal kept by James Dinwiddie from July 1 - October 4, 1794 from onboard the Jackall, one of the squadron of ships that made up the George McCartney mission to China, 1792-1794.
Fonds comprises the personal papers of James Dinwiddie, which include lecture notes, scientific journals, notebooks, manuscript, early experiments, correspondence, personal journals and also some records from the Royal Institution for 1808-1814. His papers also include the journals of W.J. Proudfoot and a biography of his father (and Dinwiddie's son-in-law), James Proudfoot.
File contains records from lumber merchants James P. Mitchell & Co., including ledgers (1881-1893); day books (1881-1897); journals (1888-1891); cash books (1887-1903); and letter books (1885-1902).
Fonds contains the records of druggist J.D.B. Fraser, including: receipts and invoices (1894); a ledger used by Fraser and MacKenna (1909); correspondence (1846-1855); the bank book of James A. Fraser (1899-1907); day books; and prescription books (1885-1886).
Fonds consists of letters, journals, business records, photographs, and artifacts created and collected by John Edward McIntyre during his career as an agriculturalist between 1920 and 1974. He worked for the New Brunswick Department of Agriculture, the Potash Company of Canada, Canadian National Railways and for many years was Secretary / Treasurer of the Maritime Fertilizer Council.
Item is a copy "nearly verbatim from the original" by W.J. Proudfoot, of the first part of his journal, comprising the "Preliminary," then entries from August 21-22, 1852, in which he described the first days of being on board the ship.
