File includes two copies, a draft and final version, of a paper by Elisabeth Mann Borgese, written for the Canadian Institute for International Peace and Security (CIIPS). The final version includes five annexes, mainly United Nations resolutions, and a copy of an article from "The Disarmament Bulletin." The draft version includes typewritten comments from an external reviewer of the work.

The "Pittsburgh Lecture," a speech made by Borgese in honour of Rachel Carson, and discusses the international enterprises being built in the wake of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. It also discusses Mann Borgese's work at the University of Chicago on the Committee to Frame a World Constitution. "Sustainable Development and Ocean Governance," discussing the example of China as a case study. "The Protection of the Marine Environment in the Case of War" a 1984 address to the International Law Academy, discussing the limitations of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLoS) in dealing with war. An untitled speech from 1991, given on behalf of the International Ocean Institute (IOI), and discussing the contiuing need for the UNCLoS.
