Series contains maps of mutual telephone companies telephone lines purchased by MT&T, exchange maps, toll route plans, technical drawings of equipment, including switchboards, aerial cables, telephone circuits, and other material.

Sound recordings created by Barbara Hinds

Series includes reel-to-reel tapes and cassette tapes of recordings made by Barbara Hinds. The recordings include recordings from Hinds’ trips to the Canadian Arctic, recordings made for a TV series, and other recordings. Most of the recordings are interviews. The series also includes Barbara Hinds' tape recorder in its canvas carrying case.

Henry Hicks' Oxford University records

Series comprises records created and collected by Henry Hicks during his studies in law at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. Records include typewritten, perfect bound volumes of detailed notes about specific subjects and lectures, which were either created or acquired by Hicks. There is also a boat race programme and a 1939 food ration book.

Series consists of records regarding James Gray’s teaching activities. This includes course materials, lectures, student files and correspondence.

Productions and projects

This series contains records relating to Robert Doyle’s designs for various theatre productions. The files contain programs, set plans, and costume sketches.

Ransom Myers’ publications

Series contains draft manuscripts, annotated draft manuscripts, correspondence, reviewer comments, datasets, correspondence with publishers, annotated reference articles, and offprints of journal publications by Ransom Myers and co-authors.

Newspaper clippings

Series contains newspaper clippings collected by Fred Brodie. Clippings tough on a variety of subjects, primarily related to labour and workers rights.

Department of Alumni Affairs

Series consists of records of the Department of Alumni Affairs for the six years prior to amalgamation with Dalhousie. Series includes records from fundraising campaigns, reunions and liaison with current students and alumni. Photographs of alumni events are found in the Public Relations series.

The Alumni Association of the Technical University of Nova Scotia was formed in 1920 under president R.R. Murray to promote a feeling of unity and loyalty to the College, and to raise funds for the College. Alumni were represented on the Board of Governors as of 1923. Reunions were held in 1937, 1947, 1959 (50th anniversary celebrations) 1964, 1979, 1984 (diamond jubilee) and 1994. Alumni News was first published in 1945. Alumni branches were established first in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa, then worldwide. The Association was governed by an elected Executive Committee and administered by the Department of Alumni Affairs.

Public Relations

Series consists of files, photographs, audio and video recordings created or collected by the Public Relations office, which document activities of Nova Scotia Technical College and Technical University of Nova Scotia, primarily from the 1980s and 1990s. Public Relations was a Section within the Department of Community Relations. Public Relations promoted Nova Scotia Technical College and Technical University of Nova Scotia through press releases, events, publicity material and providing information. Public Relations also documented events, faculty, staff and students in order to provide photographs and audio and visual recordings for publications and research.

Convocations through the 1990s are fully documented through photographs, audiocassettes, videocassettes and programmes. Construction of campus buildings is well- documented in photographs. The photographs are a visual record of many of the events, people and buildings of Nova Scotia Technical College/Technical University of Nova Scotia/DalTech. Many photographs are labelled; however many others have little identifying information. Some contextual information can be gained by looking for similar images in the publication Tech Flash. All of the photographs in this series may not have been acquired or filed as Public Relations records, but if they did not appear to be created by any other department, they were kept with all other photographs. All photographs and audiovisual material are described in a separate database.

Student Records from the Technical University of Nova Scotia

Series consists of student records maintained by the Registrar's Office. Student records include lists of class marks, lists of students, correspondence regarding students' standing, Registrar's reports, including Reports to the Dominion Bureau of Statistics. GayLine reference materials

Series contains reference materials used by volunteers of the GayLine. Series is divided into two subseries.
The first sub-series contains reference and educational materials used by GayLine volunteers covering issues such as homosexuality and coming out, sexual heath and AIDS prevention, alcoholism and substance abuse, abuse in LGBT relationships, parenting, discrimination, legal rights, and women's issues. Materials include pamphlets, flyers, legal briefs and resources, newsletters, essays, and bibliographies.
The second subseries contains reference materials relating to the operations of other helplines, as well as information about LGBT businesses and services, community groups, and events in Halifax, across Canada, and in the United States, Europe, Mexico, and Oceania. Materials include advertisements and press releases, pamphlets, newsletters, flyers, information sheets, and directories.

GayLine

Gay and Lesbian Association [GALA] posters, banners and flags

Series includes posters, banners and flags created or collected by the Gay and Lesbian Association (GALA) for various events. Series is divided into two subseries; one subseries of posters and negatives of posters for events held at Rumours, a bar owned and operated by GALA; and one subseries of banners and flags used during Pride marches, demonstrations, and GALA meetings.

Susan Sherwin's committee and report records

Series comprises records generated through Susan Sherwin's committee activities, including writing reports, and provides context for her work on and with university committees and research associations, as well as for her engagement in university curriculum reform and advocacy of feminism and women's rights.

Series comprises Susan Sherwin's teaching materials, including syllabi, exams and assignment outlines for university classes in both philosophy and women's studies. File titles are taken from course names.

Ronald St. John Macdonald’s correspondence

Series comprises correspondence regarding Macdonald's professional and academic involvement with institutions including Osgoode Hall, University of Western Ontario, University of Toronto, Dalhousie University, the European Court of Human Rights, the Hague, Peking University, World Academy of Arts and Science, Canadian Council of International Law, United Nations, Institute of International Law, African Society of International Law, British Institute of International Law, Canadian Institute of International Law, International Law Association, and others. Series also contains correspondence between Ronald St. John Macdonald and individuals including Joseph Philippe Pierre Yves Elliott Trudeau, Paul E. Martin, Jean Chrétien, Elisabeth Mann Borgese, Wang Tieya, A. Donat Pharand, and others.

Photographs and audio visual materials of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College from 1885 to 2015

Series contains graphic materials of the students, staff, and faculty of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. There are also photographs of the campus landscape and buildings and also the School of Agriculture or the College of Agriculture as it was originally known. Subseries' include aerial views, animals, buildings, campus events, students, staff, faculty and principals of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College between 1885-2015, as materials may be associated with the Provincial farm or School of Agriculture (pre-1905).

Nova Scotia Agricultural College reference resources

Series contains newsletters, journals, reports, and books published by or regarding the Nova Scotia Agricultural College between 1830-2008. Also featured in this collection are article reprints which feature NSAC staff and faculty. This series is divided into subseries by newspaper clippings, compost article reprints, magazines and publications of the NSAC, NSAC staff article reprints, NSAC strategic plans, student handbooks, and records about the School of Horticulture, the School of Agriculture, and the Agricola Archives, Special Collections and Museum.

Music score library

Subseries contains all scores found within the Upstream Music Association fonds, including compositions by Upstream musicians, commissioned works, and scores used in recording sessions, workshops, and performances.

Series comprises teaching records such as course outlines, reading lists, syllabi, assignments, memoranda and student reading logs and instructor feedback for classes taught by Joan Gilroy in the Maritime School of Social Work.

Joan Gilroy's professional association and community outreach records

Series comprises records related to Joan Gilroy's work with community and professional associations related to social work, feminism and social justice, in particular with women's caucus groups within the International Association of Schools of Social Work, the Canadian Association of Schools of Social Work, the Nova Scotia NDP, and the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers. Records include correspondence, memoranda, committee minutes and agendas, reports and presentations. Records regarding the Canadian Association of Schools of Social Work and the Maritime School of Social Work women's caucus are found in the series "Joan Gilroy's Maritime School of Social Work records."

AIDS-related health and legal advocacy

Series contains materials produced or collected as part of Larry Baxter's involvement with community HIV/AIDS organizations in Nova Scotia, including AIDS Nova Scotia [formerly MACAIDS], the Nova Scotia Persons With AIDS Coalition [NSPWAC], and the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia [ACNS]. Materials in this series document health and legal advocacy efforts for persons with HIV/AIDS, including research, lobbying, and community events.
