Andrea Birkets became associated with the Centre for Art Tapes in 1980 when she was featured on a video recording titled “Tele-Video: Four Halifax artists." The compilation is part of the artist-run centre's tape collection.

Edward Slopek is a media and fine arts artist. Slopek is currently a professor at Ryerson University, where he is the Program Director for the New Media Option in the School of Image Arts. Slopek has a bachelor’s degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, a MA from the University of Leicester and a PhD from McGill University. Slopek has exhibited artwork nationally and internally since the 1970s. His work is also a part of permanent collections, including Canada’s National Gallery.

Madelaine Palko was educated in Fine Art at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and in Communication and Media Studies at Concordia University. She became associated with the Centre for Art Tapes in 1980 when she was featured on a video recording “Tele-video: four Halifax artists”, which became part of their tape collection.
Custodial history
The tape was donated to the Dalhousie University Archives in 2013 by the Centre for Art Tapes.

Item consists of four video works part of Videos are of Tele-video : Four Halifax artists : To Russia with love by Madelaine Palko (15 min., 45 sec.), Commercial by Andrea Birkets (3 min., 16 sec.), Information morning by David Short (6 min., 53 sec.) and Embodiments of mind 2 by Edward Slopek. Tele-video was screened by Centre for Art Tapes in 1981.
