This subseries contains materials for the fifth report of a series of reports from "The Atlantic Social Services Project: Research Report IV" which were sponsored by the Maritime School of Social Work, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The principal investigator on this, and all reports in this series, is Joan E. Cummings.

This subseries contains materials related to the report "Social Service Needs and Gaps in the Atlantic Region: A Client Perspective". This report was based on a survey of clients who were receiving social services form one of the four provincial social service departments, and was carried out in 1980. The report summarizes the client groups, and of how they defined their important needs, social service gaps and general satisfaction with the services received.
