This file contains a photograph is the SS Canada while it was sinking. Also included with the photograph was a fading photocopy of a write up about the photo which read, "Wide World Photo: Please Watch Credit: 921668. Sank After Explosion. North Sea-- The partly submerged S.S. Canada shown after she sank while five tugs were attempting to beach her. The Canada was damaged by an explosion recently. Believed to have been caused by a mine. All aboard the 11,108 ton liner escaped in lifeboats. _____ by British censor. -11/24/39 (s)"
