Biographical history

George Gardner Morrison was a master mariner from Economy, Nova Scotia. He was the captain of the schooners Nellie Blanche and the Nellie Carter. Morrison purchased the Nellie Carter on 29 February 1901 from Mark Phinney of West Bay, Nova Scotia.

Custodial history

Records were donated to the Dalhousie University Archives by James H. Morrison, great-grandson of George Morrison, in accession (2017-043) in October 2017.

Scope and content

Fonds contains three logbooks kept by Captain George G. Morrison and receipts and correspondence belonging to his father, James J. Morrison.
