Collection contains duplicate materials from fonds in the Nova Scotia LGBT Seniors Archive. Fonds contains materials collected by Al Stewart as part of his involvement in the Maritime leather community, his LGBT advocacy work at Saint John's United Church in Halifax, and his involvement in the broader LGBT community in Nova Scotia. Leather community records document the activities of the TightRope leather brotherhood, Mr. Atlantic Canada Leather [MACLeather] contests, and other leather groups across Canada and the United States. Materials include administrative records, photographs, promotional materials, correspondence, newsletters, and catalogues. United Church materials primarily relate to Stewart's efforts to attain Affirmed status for St. John's United Church, and include reference materials, correspondence, and newsletters. Fonds also contains objects and ephemera related to the leather community, Affirm, and Stewart's membership in the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union [NSGEU], as well as personal photographs, correspondence, and LGBT publications.

Collection is comprised of materials collected by Don Murchy as part of his involvement with the TightRope Leather Brotherhood, a men's leather and denim club that operated in Nova Scotia from the early 1990s to 2007. Materials document TightRope operations, as well as the involvement of TightRope members in Mr. Atlantic Canada [M.A.C.] Leather contests and Halifax Fetish Ball events. Materials in this collection include administrative records, by-laws and guiding documents, membership lists, posters and other promotional materials, and photographs.

Leather community materials

Series contains materials collected by Al Stewart as part of his involvement with the Halifax-based TightRope leather brotherhood, which was established in the early 1990s, incorporated in 1997, and disbanded in 2007. Series also contains materials related to the Mr. Atlantic Canada Leather [MACLeather] organization, which operated between 1999-2010, and the leather community more broadly. Materials include TightRope administrative and financial records, correspondence, and promotional materials; event cards, flyers, posters, programs, and certificates of participation for TightRope events, MACLeather contests, and leather events across Canada and the United States; photographs of TightRope meet-ups, MACLeather contests, and other leather community events; web print-outs; issues of the Phalia newsletter published by Spearhead leather and denim club in Toronto; erotic gear catalogues; and one copy of the 2002 Men of Pumpjack calendar.

Materials include notices and flyers for events put on by TightRope and the Toronto-based leather club Spearhead between 1992 and 2001; administrative and financial records including general meeting and elections notices from 2000 and 2001, meeting minutes dated 2000 to 2002, budgets and financial statements produced between 1993 and 2000, and a certificate of incorporation from 1997; correspondence regarding TightRope operations dated 2000 to 2003; and dungeon rules and hanky codes

File contains printouts from the TightRope website containing information about TightRope's purpose, membership rules and regulations, and events; two TightRope pamphlets; one certificate of participation in the McNab's Island Massacre 2000 awarded by TightRope to Mask and a thank you card from Mask; two certificate of participation awarded to TightRope by the Mr. Leather Ottawa-Hull organization for participation in their 1999 and 2001 contests; and correspondence between TightRope and Mr. Leather Ottawa-Hull.

M.A.C. Leather t-shirt and vest

File contains one leather vest adorned with pins from various LGBT and leather community events. The leather patches on the back, which read "Mr Atlantic Leather 99", were made from the sash awarded to Don Murchy for winning the M.A.C. Leather competition in 1999. File also contains one t-shirt from the 2004 M.A.C. Leather competition.

Mr. Atlantic Leatherman 2001 contest poster

File contains one poster for the Mr. Atlantic Leatherman 2001 contest, held in Halifax from November 24-26, 2000. Mr. Atlantic Leatherman was later renamed to the Mr. Atlantic Canada (M.A.C.) Leather contest.

File contains one graphite pencil drawing of a kneeling made nude. Drawing was created by Ron Harrison and donated by Chris Aucoin as an auction item for a Mr. Atlantic Canada Leather [M.A.C. Leather] benefit event, where it was purchased by Don Murchy.
