St. Francis Xavier University Football Team - 1907

Six young men standing behind five young men seated between two men wearing clerical collars, with four young men seated cross-legged on the floor; full pose. All but one of the young men are wearing sweaters with an "X" sewn on the chest; all are wearing shorts. The one seated in the centre is holding a football inscribed: "1907." The individual in the back row, third from the left is Donald Charles MacKay.

Neil was born on July 12, 1853 in Wycocomagh, Cape Breton. He was married first to Mary Ann McDonald (1856-1894), and later to Mary Fraser (1853-1942), the latter of whom is pictured here. Neil died on May 29, 1931 in Thorburn.
