Brochure also contains background information (in French) on the Commission and it's membership, and on the second plenary session to be held in Rio de Janerio (July 1996).

Topics discussed include ICOD Seminar, MarLaw, Marine Edication Kits for St. Kitts/ Nevis, Coral Reef Research, future policy directions, an update on West Africa, report by the audit and evaluation committee, a financial report, project proposals, and a presentation of DELMAR. File contains a duplicate memorandum on budget cuts for 1989/1990, which has not been digitized.

This plan touches on the Centre's mandate, corporate organization, operational environment, corporate assessment, strategies and objectives, performance indicators and programme effectiveness, and operational plans, including technical assistance, information services, training, and finance and administration.

'V - Z' miscellaneous correspondence

File contains correspondence with: Anton Vratusa of the ICPE (International Center for Public Enterprise in Developing Countries) on adovating for ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLoS); Lojze Peterle (Slovenian Deputy Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, letter contains an appeal from Mann Borgese on why UNCLoS is important to Slovenia); Mark Wood (a journalist at "The Malta Independent"); Layachi Yaker (mainly on the Secreatary General Consultations, the boat paper, and the non-paper); and Günther Zade of the World Maritime University (the International Ocean Institute held a training programme with them in 1992).

Concerto para piano e orquestra : segundo flautas

Item contains the first and second flute parts for Heitor Villa-Lobos' first piano concerto, dedicated to Ellen Ballon. This part was used by the second flautists. The parts were copied by Fran Averede.

Correspondence between Elisabeth Mann Borgese and Ambassador Nicolas Salom Franco

File contains correspondence with Ambassador Franco, the Colombian ambassador to Finland. Some correspondence concerns the Training Programme, and the need to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLoS), and the United States opposition to UNCLoS. The file also includes a draft syllabus for a training course, with correspondence, and a budget.

File contains correspondence with Gil Winham, Canadian External Affairs, and the Delegation of Suriname to United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLoS) III. File also includes a project proposal for "Science and Technology for Development and Disarmament," by Elisabeth Mann Borgese, and a report from the twenty-third United Nations General Assembly.

File also contains a fax to "The Group of Fifteen" from the International Ocean Institute (IOI) on the implementation and ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLoS).

Concerto for piano and orchestra : [performance guidelines]

File includes liner notes, recording timing notes, and notes for corrections to the score, all for the recording of Heitor Villa-Lobos' first piano concerto. The liner notes were written by Ralph Gustafson, a friend of Villa-Lobos and Ellen Ballon, to whom the concerto is dedicated and who performed the concerto for its recording in 1948. The concerto was written in Rio de Janeiro in 1945. The file includes directions for transcribing Villa-Lobos' piano concerto from the records of its American premiere in Dallas, Texas with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Antal Dorati.
