This series consists of manuscripts, broadcast scripts, commentary and poetry written by Allen. It also includes some reference material that was used to write various broadcasts.

Other materials consist of various records pertaining to the day-to-day operations of Neptune Theatre, including meeting minutes and agendas; reports, newsletters, and memos; employee timesheets; contracts, copyright, and royalty agreements; information about different granting bodies; applications for funding; communications with staff and external agents such as the Dalhousie Archives or drama teachers from Nova Scotia; death announcements; and newspaper clippings of issues relating to the theatre.
Series contains box office summaries (which include a detailed accounting of ticket sales for each performance, including subsidized and complimentary tickets and both gross and net amounts received), correspondence, guest lists, subscriber lists, theatre booking forms, seating plans, box office rules, security agreements, regulations, and show reports.
Series includes correspondence, forms, and agreements with the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association (an organization which negotiates and administers collective agreements among performers and other stage personnel). Also included are contracts, policies and procedures of staff and employees of the Neptune Theatre Company, newsletters and bulletins, reports, minimum salary rates, and tax information for actors.

The scripts are those made for the theatre's live performances as well as those made for the appearances on the Atlantic Television System. The scripts are primarily written by James MacSwain, with some written by Karen Schlick and Sandy Moore.
The series consists of correspondence relating both to research for and publication of the book, research notes, and interviews recorded on audio cassette regarding the history of Neptune Theatre, collected for the writing of The Neptune Story: Twenty-Five Years in the Life of a Leading Canadian Theatre ; photographs, messages, and tributes to Neptune Theatre included in the published work, can also be found here. As well, the series contains minutes of the meetings of the 25th Anniversary Committee of Neptune Theatre (of which Perkyns was a member), a draft copy of The Neptune Story , newspaper clippings, congratulatory notes, and a speech given at the book launch in 1989.
