Item is an album with 206 photographs taken between 1929 and 1941 by Raddall and others. Subjects include Raddall and friends and family; Raddall and Edith's vacation to Bermuda; Raddall and friends boating, and taking camping, hunting and fishing trips across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island; historical artifacts including a -pound canon; images from a 1933 performance of "Three Live Ghosts" put on in Liverpool, Nova Scotia and in which Raddall acted; and Edith Raddall with her children, Tommy and Frances.
Series contains collected clippings about and tributes to Raddall and his work as well information pertaining to the library (1989) and provincial park (1997) named in his honour. Series also includes convocation programs and a variety of medals awarded to Raddall over his career, including his Governor General's, University of Alberta National Award in Letters, Award of Merit Literary Excellence, and Order of Canada medals.
Item consists of a presentation copy (signed on May 1944) from Andrew Merkel to Thomas Head Raddall. Interleafed at front is a single sheet with the song "Forever and Forever" and a note by Thomas Head Raddall (1 page).
Subseries consists of an album and loose photographs taken between 1929 and 1941 by Raddall and others. Some of the loose photographs were removed from the album for preservation and others are duplicates or reproductions of materials in the album. The subseries title is taken from a previous finding aid. Subjects include images of Raddall hunting and fishing; vacations with friends and family to Porters Lake, Eagle Lake, and Elba Beach, Bermuda; Edith Raddall and her children, Tommy and Frances; and historical recreations, including a 4-pound cannon from the 18th century, and the uniform of a mid-19th century Nova Scotia militiaman.
Item, a portrait, has two duplicate copies that can be found in MS-2-202, Box 51, Folder 29. One copy is signed by Thomas Head Raddall at Christmas, 1930.
Item is a duplicate of a photograph in Thomas Head Raddall's photograph album, 1929-1941. The photograph was taken near the headquarters of the 8th Battalion of the 90th Winnipeg Rifles during the First World War. The headquarters was located near the corner o the woods at the left of the picture. The 8th Battalion had to cover the open ground to the right under heavy machine gun fire where the Germans had occupied an old trench. Thomas Head Raddall's father, Col. Raddall, Sr., personally directed the 8th Battalion's attack. He crossed the road in the photograph and was killed about a quarter-mile past in the open ground to the right.
Subseries contains original illustrations that appeared in Saga of the Rover. All illustrations are by T.W. Hayhurst except for a map drawn by Thomas Head Raddall. Materials include original pen and wash illustrations, plates, proofs, and transparencies.
