Item is a photograph of the post office, which was built in 1897. The building was demolished in 1955, and replaced with the federal government building in 1956.
Item is a photograph of three former sailors, the "last of the old-time, square rigged sailors" from Liverpool in the period between Confederation and the death of Queen Victoria. William Henry Smith, in the centre, passed away in 1955; Robert Butler, on the left, passed away in 1956; and Charles West is on the right.

Item is a photograph of the Elmwood Hotel, which was originally a mansion built by Joshua Newton, who was the son-in-law of Simeon Perkins. The Perkins house is on the left, though it is not visible. In about 1942, the hotel was purchased by the Canadian Navy, and was used during WWII as a living quarters and offices for naval personnel whose ships were undergoing refit at the Thompson Machinery Co. Ltd. plant. After the war ended in 1949, the hotel was torn down, and the site became the lawn in front of the artillery training quarters.

The wooden bust on the left was carved by Milton-based woodcarver, George Crouse, whose work was prominent in the 1850's and 60's. Crouse carved figureheads and bow devices for many newly built Liverpool (Nova Scotia) ships. The bust in the photograph is a childhood likeness of Captain Samuel Kempton who also hailed from Milton. Kempton was the skipper of a packet schooner for many years that ran the Halifax - Liverpool - Boston route.

Item is a photograph of a salvaged boat. The hole in its keel was sustained by striking a piece of steel. An American ship went aground between Seal Island and Blonde Rock during World War II, and steel cargo was thrown overboard in an effort to lighten the vessel for subsequent salvage operations. The ejected steel remains a menace to fishing boats in those waters, where the tide rises and falls with a large margin.

The photograph was taken while Raddall was on a local cruise from Liverpool, Nova Scotia to Port Mouton Bay during the summer of 1946. The yacht, Ripple, was owned by Reverend John ("Sailor John") Wilson of Trinity Church, Liverpool, Nova Scotia.
