Fonds consists of manuscripts and proofs of Budge Wilson's books and short stories; correspondence with publishers, students, and teachers; publicity material; photocopies and clippings of reviews, profiles, and notices regarding awards and appearances; diaries; recorded radio interviews; and an assortment of other documents created and collected by the author throughout her writing career. The fonds also contains materials relating to the adaptation of Wilson's novel "Before Green Gables" into a Japanese animated television series.
File contains a typed and annotated draft of Budge Wilson's book "Oliver's Wars," with correspondence with Sheila Dalton, copy editor, and Elsha Leventis, editorial assistant at Stoddart Publishing Co. Limited.
File contains the first handwritten draft of Budge Wilson's book "The Gift," later published as "The Best / Worst Christmas Present Ever," and a letter to Sandra Bogart, Acquisitions Editor at Scholastic Books.
File contains a typed and annotated draft of Budge Wilson's book "Mystery Lights at Blue Harbour" and a letter from her editor at Scholastic-TAB Publications Ltd., Sheila Dalton. The draft is missing some pages and included pages are out of order. A note from Budge Wilson on one of the pages reads "pages missing may not have needed edit."
File contains an annotated, typed draft of Budge Wilson's book "The Cat that Barked" and copies of correspondence between Budge Wilson and Sheila Dalton regarding the manuscript. This version (with the changes made) was sent to Lesley Choyce and Terry Roscoe.
