File consists of records related to an exhibition of artwork by Stephen Cruise titled 'Bitsandpieces,' organized by and presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from April 27 to May 22, 1976, and later at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1980.

Records consist mainly of correspondence, financial statements, floor plans, and clippings. Also includes three photographs of Cruise's artworks, two postcards from Stephen Cruise to Bruce Ferguson (Director, Dalhousie Art Gallery), eight photographic slides, and an opening invitation.

File consists of records related to the Augustus John exhibition organized and circulated by the National Gallery of Canada. The exhibition was shown at Dalhousie Art Gallery in November 1972.

Records consist mainly of correspondence between Caspar John, son of Augustus John and Ernest Smith (Director, Dalhousie Art Gallery) and between Ernest Smith and Ann Chudleigh (Assistant Director, National Gallery of Canada Extension Service). In addition, records include exhibition loan agreement letters and forms from the National Gallery of Canada, draft letters from Ernest Smith to Danielle Corbeil (Director of National Gallery of Canada Extension Services), lists of proposed works, and xerox copies of John's drawings.
