Item is a photograph of buildings and equipment at the Dalhousie Pit in Stellarton. Acadia Coal Company opened the Dalhousie Pit on the Foord Seam in 1850. The mine was destroyed by fire in 1870. A negative is available: PC-2-318-66.

Item is a photograph of the Student Union Building at Dalhousie University, which opened November 8, 1968. There are some construction materials sitting around the building and a sign from McDonald Construction Co. Ltd., C. D. Davison & Company, J. Philip Vaughan & Assoc. Ltd., and F. C. O'Neill & Assoc. Ltd. The photograph is stapled onto a piece of cardboard and there is a piece of paper with a caption attached to the back..

Photograph of the Elmwood Hotel in Liverpool, Nova Scotia printed on a postcard

Item is a photograph of the Elmwood Hotel, which was originally a mansion built by Joshua Newton, who was the son-in-law of Simeon Perkins. The Perkins house is on the left, though it is not visible. In about 1942, the hotel was purchased by the Canadian Navy, and was used during WWII as a living quarters and offices for naval personnel whose ships were undergoing refit at the Thompson Machinery Co. Ltd. plant. After the war ended in 1949, the hotel was torn down, and the site became the lawn in front of the artillery training quarters.
