Educational tour information and other documents

File contains a program and other promotional material from Andre's Dreamworld and Ploom's Adventures, performed at Lunenburg Theatre; a supervisor's bulletin for line & staff; a brochure for a series of books called "History of Costume"; a brochure for a series of books called "Architecture, Interiors & Furniture"; promotional material and an application for EF Educational Tours; and a world map.

French exercise book

File contains a spiral bound notebook which was used by Robert Doyle to complete French exercises. Some handouts and tests are included in pockets in the notebook. Most of the notebook is blank.

File contains some of Robert Doyle's financial documents. The documents include an assessment notice for 1973 from the Municipality of Annapolis County, billing information for props and costumes, notes from a financial planning presentation, handwritten notes about retirement planning, documents from a pre-retirement planning workshop, information about retirement benefits, reciepts, a demand on third parties for the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, correspondence with Piers, Conrod and Allen Chartered Accountants, Doyle's 1968-1973, 1986, and 1993 income tax returns, and letters from the Department of National Revenue. The file also includes a collection of receipts and other records of personal and business expenses, each stapled to a page from a day planner with notes written on it.

File contains information about the construction of items for Parks Canada, a paper called "Scenography" by Peter Perina, a short story called "The Annotated Women" by Robert Doyle, "The History of Competitive Sports and the Modern Olympics" by Robert Doyle, rejection letters from various Canadian and America book publishers, and correspondence about the deferral of Doyle's appointment to full professorship. The documents include information about retirement benefits, correspondence about the Blackmore Award, a character sketch assignment description, reviews of the Costume Studies program, and unit reviews. Correspondence include letters and memorandums to and from Robert Doyle, Peter Perina, Lynn Sorge, Amy Sampson, Ray D. Byham (Assistant Dean, Student Matters), John T. O'Brien, and Tanis Delaney.

The file includes contracts from Neptune Theatre, the Nova Scotia Tattoo, Theatre Plus, Upper Clements Family Theme Park, Meet the Navy, Saint John Tattoo, and Manitoba Theatre Centre. The file also includes a designing artists agreement from the Associated Designers of Canada.

File contains documents related to the Louisbourg costuming program, such as instructions on how to make stockings and other items, a notepad with handwritten notes, progress reports, correspondence, invoices, and telegrams. The file also includes notes for readers from the Victoria and Albert Museum Library, coorespondence from the Nova Scotia Department of Culture Recreation & Fitness about summer programs that Doyle led, information about Nova Scotia Textiles Limited, and Nova Scotia Textiles lecture notes and slide cues.

Love for Love set materials

File contains 19 pieces of clear plastic that have been painted with swirling designs in various dark colours. Some pieces are cut into irregular shapes. Some pieces are mounted on card. The items are from a set design for a production of Love for Love, Probably Wimbledon Theatre's 1969 production.

Newspaper article on Daffodil Ball

File contains an article about the Daffodil Ball, a spring gala fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society's 50th anniversary of operating in Nova Scotia. The article describes the importance of the ball for the Canadian Cancer Society. The article has been cut out of a newspaper and was written by Shirley Ellis for a column called "Round & About." The article mentions that Robert Doyle created the setting for the event.

Newspaper clipping of clothing styles

File contains a newspaper clipping from the November 20, 1984 issue of the Chronicle Herald. The clipping contains an article called "Exciting fashions for the party-goer" which features three photographs of outfits. The clipping may have been used as research material for costume design.

Newspaper clipping of Dalhousie University Costume Studies project, "The Wedding of the Century."

File contains the Nova Scotian section from the April 12, 1996 issue of the Chronicle Herald. The front page of the section features an article about a Dalhousie University Costume Studies project. The project was a re-enactment of a wedding that took place on December 29, 1764 between Joseph Goreham and Ann Spry. The article is divided between two pages of the newspaper section and features three black and white photographs of the event.
