Hans Hoffman : colourist in black and white

File consists of records relating to the Hans Hoffman exhibition entitled "Hans Hoffman: Colourist in Black and White," organized and circulated by the International Exhibition Foundation, Washington and presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from February 3 to March 6, 1983.

Records consist mainly of correspondence with other galleries and various documents created by the International Exhibition Foundation including itinerary, biographical data, and publicity material. The file also includes a list of works, a loan agreement, a condition report, a photocopy of an article "Hans Hofmann as Teacher: Drawings by His Students," and photographs.

Phil Sultz exhibition

File consists of records relating to the planning and preparation of an exhibition of artworks by Phillip Sultz in October 1971, organized and presented by the Dalhousie Art Gallery.

Records consist of correspondence between Ernest Smith (Director, Dalhousie Art Gallery) and Philip Sultz (Professor, painter), a curriculum vitae and two photographs of Sultz, a list of artworks and a newspaper clipping of a revew of Sultz's work. Many letters are handwritten.
