Item is a copy of a photograph annotated: "(Skutching Flax) Pictou Co. 1847". The photograph shows three individuals, full pose. One individual is wearing a hat and pressing flax on a wooden machine, and two individuals are wearing scarves on their heads and working with flax inside a wooden building. File contains a photograph of Reverand James Alexander Stead Burns who was born in Montreal in 1871. He had one brother, C.B. Burns, living in Ottawa, and three sisters: Mrs. Arthur G. Troop also lived in Ottawa, Mrs. MacKathy in Oban Scotland, and an unnamed sister in London, England. He was predeceased by his wife and died childless in New Glasgow in 1926. His latest pastorate was in Thorburn, Pictou County. Print from Nitrate Negative: 25-27

Item is a photograph of Reverend Angus R. McDonald, who was born April 14, 1868 in Broad Cove Marsh, Inverness, Cape Breton, the son of Roderick McDonald (1818-1893) and Flora Smith (1837-1927). Reverend McDonald died in May 1953.
