Wayves

Subseries contains duplicate issues of Wayves Magazine. Wayves was initially published beginning in 1983 as the newsletter for the Gay and Lesbian Association of Nova Scotia, under the name Gaezette. The magazine adopted the name Wayves in 1995 and continued to print content intended to inform and support lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgendered people throughout Atlantic Canada until the print edition ended in 2012.

Tony Urquhart drawings

File consists of records related to an exhibition of sketches and drawings by Tony Urqhart, organized by the National Gallery of Canada. The exhibition was presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery in April 1970.

Records consist of exhibition agreement forms, a condition report and handwritten condition notes, photocopy of an excerpt from Canadian Art, Volume 18, No. 1 titled 'Urqhart', an excerpt from Ontario Library Review, December 1966 containing an entry on Urqhart in 'Who's Who in Ontario Art', a packing list and list of artworks, a biography in English and French, and exhibition descriptive text.

The Song Fishermen's Song Sheets

File contains 15 issues of a periodical "issued every so often," edited and published by Andrew Merkel out of his Halifax office of the Canadian Press. In addition to publishing the poems of The Song Fishermen, a Halifax literary group that included Andrew Merkel, Kenneth Leslie, Charles G.D. Roberts, Molly Beresford, Bliss Carman, Charles Bruce, and Robert Norwood, it became a vehicle for members to keep in touch with each other, especially those who lived outside of Halifax. Issue numbers 1-4 and 10 were published as "The Song Fishermens' Song Book"; the possessive apostrophe was corrected in the remaining numbers. Number 12 is missing and number 13 took the form of a short book of poems published by Abenaki Press in tribute to Bliss Carman after this death.
