File contains memoranda sent and received by the International Centre for Ocean Development (ICOD). Various administrative documents are attached to the memos, such as: CVs, government documents, and resolutions. Includes some material concerning the "Managing for the Future" project run by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), and with which the ICOD participated. File has several duplicate copies of reports, which have not been digitized.

File contains two agendas for the Meeting of the Preparatory Committee of the Independent World Commission for the Oceans (IWCO), held in Lisbon, Portugal, June 1995. Discussed at the meeting were the terms of reference for the IWCO, the IWCO procedures, an action calendar, discussion of the final report, membership, IWCO administrative structures, budget matters, a proposed agenda for the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the IWCO, and the proposed agenda for the first Plenary Session of the IWCO. Also included are several background papers prepared by the International Ocean Institute.

Includes agenda and (partial) meeting minutes from joint session the Fifth Session of the Board of Trustees and the Thirteenth Session of the Planning Council held in Algiers, Algeria on October 25, 1976. File also includes a provisional agenda from the Fourth Session of the Board of Trustees Meeting (held March 8, 1976 in Malta), a provisional agenda from the Eleventh Session of the Planning Council (held April 10, 1976 in New York City), along with meeting minutes (discussed at this meeting were the New York session of the United National Conference on the Law of the Sea (UNCLoS), Pacem in Maribus (PIM) VI and VII, projects, "The Ocean Yearbook," and membership and financial matters). Mediterranean study : project description

File contains a proposal from the International Ocean Institute co-authored by Elisabeth Mann Borgese and Sidney J. Holt. The proposal is subtitled: "A Multidisciplinary Project for Improvement of the Living Resources of the Mediterranean Sea," and examines development in the Mediterranean and its impact on the marine environment. The proposal grew out of the reports and work presented at the fourth Pacem in Maribus (PIM) conference.

Mediterranean Multaqa (UNESCO conference) : [correspondence, meeting documents, and reports]

File contains material, including correspondence, reports, agenda, and registrations forms for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)'s 1998 conference called "Mediterranean Multaqa," which was chaired by Elisabeth Mann Borgese. The conference aimed to explore the idea of establishing the Mediterranean as a maritime "zone of peace." Also included in this file is a concept paper, "Integrating Sustainable Development and Regional Security," and a statement by the chair of the closing session, both by Mann Borgese.

File contains a copy of introductory remarks by Elisabeth Mann Borgese, given on behalf of the International Ocean Institute (IOI), at a conference on establishing Marine Parks in the Mediterranean, held in Salerno, Italy between August 18 and 22, 1973. The file includes a bound copy of the speech in both English and Italian, a typed English draft, and copies of English and Italian proofs with corrections/annotation.
