The mushrooms are native to Nova Scotia and are botanically accurate in detail and coloration. The ceramics were made by Alma and Ernst Lorenzen and donated to Dalhousie by Miss Constance Macfarlane. The photograph was taken by Biology photographer Mary Primrose.
