Selections from the westburne collection

File consists of records relating to the exhibition 'Selections from the Westburne Collection,' organized and circulated by the Edmonton Art Gallery and sponsored by Westburne Industrial Enterprises Ltd. The exhibition was presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from April 28 to June 5, 1983.

Records consist mainly of correspondence with the Edmonton Art Gallery and the Westburne Industrial Enterprises Ltd. The file also includes clippings and photographs- two paintings from the Westburne collection and three opening reception photographs.

Sculpture '81

File consists of records related to the exhibition 'Sculpture '81: Halifax/Dartmouth Sites,' organized by the Dalhousie University Art Gallery. The exhibition was presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery from May 1 to August 30, 1981. The artists who participated in this exhibition were Douglas Bentham, Roland Brener, Anthony Caro, André Fauteux, Delio Fonseca, Peter Hide, John MacKinnon, Robin Peck, Alan Reynolds, Mia Westerlund, Arthur Weyhe.

The photograph on the bottom left is a duplicate of MS-2-202, Box 51, Folder 20, Item 2 in subseries Thomas Head Raddall's loose photographs, and was taken at Valcartier Camp, Quebec.

Raddall, Sr. can be found holding the telescope in the middle of the front row in the portrait of the rifle division. On the reverse side of the scrapbook page, the photographs on the left and right of Thomas Head Raddall are duplicates from the aforementioned album. The photograph on the left was taken in North Sydney in 1920, and the photograph on the right was taken in Point Pleasant Park in 1921. The photograph in the bottom middle may have been taken at Sable Island.

File contains a scrapbook containing fifteen photographs of The Bill Lynch Shows and four envelope fragments, including one addressed to Mr W.P. Lynch from George A. Hamid, Inc., and one from the Al Martin Agency postmarked July 30, 1947.

Fonds consists of correspondence, financial documents, journals and ledgers, legal documents, photographs, plans, printed material, and reports. This material spans almost 60 years and gives insight into a company which changed hands several times, and also represented an important part of Nova Scotia industry. Through the material one is able to get a complete picture of the process of manufacturing pulp, from acquiring timber and land to machinery and labour used, to exporting the end product; it also demonstrates how business was conducted. Fonds demonstrates the organizational structure, management, and operations of the Scott Paper company, and provide insight into business operations in Nova Scotia in the 20th century.

Saskatchewan Ceramicists exhibition

File consists of records related to the Saskatchewan Ceramicists exhibition presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from August 2 to September 7, 1976.

Records consist of correspondence, insurance documents, invoices, lists of expenses, a loan agreement, a postcard, and clippings. Records also include photographic prints of artworks and slides.
