Item, a photograph, was taken when the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Canadian Legion in Liverpool gave a dinner for veterans to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of World War I. Thomas Head Raddall, who is in the centre of the front row, was the guest speaker.
Items, negatives, are related to material found in Thomas Head Raddall's photograph album [between 1940 and 1959], and to MS-2-202, Oversized 8, Folder 13 and MS-2-202, Box 55, Folder 12, Item 3 in subseries Thomas Head Raddall's loose photographs. Items are duplicate to MS-2-202, Oversized Box 8 Folder 13 and materials found in Thomas Head Raddall's photograph albums 1941-1953 and 1944-1961.
File contains 38 photographs taken in downtown Halifax during and after riots that took place on VE Day in 1945. Photographs show servicemen and women as well as civilians, street celebrations and ransacked stores. Item 25 was taken by Roy Tidman and Item 37 is a Royal Canadian Navy photograph.
Item may have been a page in one of Thomas Head Raddall's photograph albums. The photographs are either duplicates of or related to material in Thomas Head Raddall's photograph album, 1917-1927. T.H. Raddall, Sr. can be found holding the telescope in the middle of the front row in the portrait of the rifle division. On the reverse side of the scrapbook page, the photographs on the left and right of Thomas Head Raddall are duplicates from the aforementioned album. The photograph on the left was taken in North Sydney in 1920, and the photograph on the right was taken in Point Pleasant Park in 1921. The photograph in the bottom middle may have been taken at Sable Island.
