William Townsend September 1972

File consists of records relating to the Exhibition of William Townsend Paintings 1964-1968 organized by Dalhousie Art Gallery for circulating through A. P. A. C. 1972-1973.

Records consist mainly of correspondence of Ernest Smith (Director, Dalhousie Art Gallery) and handwritten letters from William Townsend and Charlotte Townsend (the daughter of William Townsend). Additional records include shipping receipts, insurance certificates, newspaper clippings, a photograph of the painting 'Cascade VIII' and condition reports.

The decorative fruit and flower arrangements

File consists of records related to the planning of an exhibition entitled "The Decorative Fruit and Flower Arrangements," prepared by the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie-Mellon University of Pittsburgh. The exhibition was presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from May 31 to July 8, 1979.

Records consist of correspondence, newspaper clippings, insurance files, a loan agreement, and other administrative documents. Also includes a brochure for the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation (travel shows) and a pamphlet for the Decorative Fruit and Flower Arrangements.

Susan Schelle : recent work

File consists of records related to an exhibition of works by sculptor Susan Schelle, held at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from 12 March to 12 April 1981.

Selection from the permanent collection: Canadian landscape painters

File contains three stapled copies of exhibition booklet of "Selection from the permanent collection: Canadian landscape painters" presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from October 23, 1980 - January 4, 1981. The selection of paintings and drawings in this exhibition was chosen to complement the Carl Schaefer in Hanover exhibition.

Photographic exhibition 1968-69

File consists of records related to a series of exhibitions organized by the George Eastman House of Photography.

File consists of records related to 'exhibition by Members of Faculty: Nova Scotia College of Art' presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery in January 1967.

Records consist of an exhibition pamphlet, an informational brochure about the College's offerings for 1966-1967, entry forms, a price list, and a newspaper clipping of a review by Marion Moore.

Craig Wright jewellery

File consists of records related to the Craig Wright jewellery exhibition, held at Dalhousie Art Gallery from January 24 to March 6, 1976.

Records consist of invoices, insurance documents, a list of works and prices, interdepartmental memos, artist's statement, correspondence regarding insurance, a pamphlet, and handwritten thank you letters from Craig Wright to Mary Meagher (secretary, Dalhousie Art Gallery) and Bruce W. Ferguson (Director, Dalhousie Art Gallery). Also included are photographs and slides of a few items exhibited; envelope annotated "Wright 263-9021 for Friday 19th" and date stamped December 11, 1975.

Carole Fraser exhibition

File consists of records related to the planning of a solo exhibition at the Dalhousie Art Gallery of Carole Fraser’s drawings and paintings. Arranged by the Dalhousie Art Gallery for the 1965 rotation, this exhibition travelled with the Atlantic Provinces Art Circuit (APAC) from 1966 to 1968.

Records include a pamphlet for the cancelled 1964 exhibition ‘Works by Sarah Jackson, Carol Fraser and Aileen Meagher’; newspaper clippings discussing Fraser’s work and solo exhibition; box and artwork lists; correspondence with Evelyn Holmes, Acting Curator of the Dalhousie Art Gallery, regarding Fraser’s works; two Dalhousie newsletters; and exhibition pamphlets from APAC member galleries.
