Individuals

Series consists of research materials, correspondence, and biographical information of individuals who Gordon Duff had in his collection. Many of these records are research materials used by Duff in teaching or publication. The majority of the files listed are pharmacists or pharmacy clerks. Additional biographical materials of other pharmacists can be found in the Jessie I. MacKnight and George A. Burbidge series.

J. Gordon Duff : lectures

File contains textual records of talks given by J. Gordon Duff on subjects such as the history of the College of Pharmacy, and on Jessie I. MacKnight, a notable female Maritime pharmacist who was a member of the Canadian Pharmaceutical Association. File also contains a list of pharmacy professionals, and a clipping from Impact newsletter from the summer of 2007 of Centennial Pharmacist Award recipients.

Series consists of photographs from the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy of pharmaceutical equipment and pharmacies, Dalhousie College of Pharmacy graduates, Maritime pharmacies, and of J. Gordon Duff.

J.D.B. Fraser : photographs

File contains photographs and negatives that were originally with materials related to J.B.D. Fraser. Photographs have been seperated from the rest of the materials. Photos were originally in envelopes, which are still in file folder. Photos from first envelope include 4 black and white prints, two of gravestones, one of a church and one of an older brick building. Second envelope contains various negatives, envelope is labelled, "Dr. Duff #73041804". Photos from the third envelope are duplicates of the first, there are two of the same church, 4 of the two gravestone and 2 of older brick building.

File contains one copy of "Time" magazine which has Jessie I. MacKnight on the cover. This mock up of the magazine was dedicated to her winning the A.H. Robins "Bowl of Hygeia" Award, the magazine is only 3 pages long, including cover and back page.

Some of the materials in Duff's collection came from Jessie MacKnight's estate, while others were collected by Duff in preparation for writing articles about her. There was no indication of the source of the materials, so their original order has been maintained and grouped under this series.
