File contains memoranda and speeches by Arvid Pardo, some delievered in his role as Ambassador to the United Nations. Specific documents include a memorandum from 1971 on the explotation of the resources of ocean space, "A New Order in Ocean Space" (delievered to the Council of Europe), a statement given on 5 August 1971 to the Main Committee of the Sea-bed Committee, a statement given on 17 August 1971 to the United Nations Preparatory Committee for the Third Law of the Sea Conference, a statement given on 24 November 1971 on the subject of the creation of an intergovernmental sea service, a statement given on 28 March 1972 in Sub-Committee II, and a statement given on 23 March 1972 (to the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of the Sea-Bed and the Ocean Floor Beyond the Limits of National Jurisdiction).
