Scope and content

File consists of Jerome Barkow's draft comments on Irenaus Eibl-Eibesfeldt paper on human ethology, and related documents. Items include a letter to Steven Harnad, the editor of the Behavior and Brain Sciences journal, from Barkow, submitting his paper, stating he took his position to provide a different perspective on the author, and that if there was an opening, he would like to serve board member or associate commentator with the journal; Barkow's comments on Eibl-Eibesfeldt's paper, Human Ethology-Concepts and Implications for the Sciences of Man, where Barkow states that Eibl-Eibesfeldt is interesting because he uses empirical models for his observations, and how his theories on cultural rituals being similar to child behaviors could change how cross-cultural differences in adults are viewed; a list of instructions and criteria for authors and commentators wishing to have their articles posted in the Behavioral and Brain Sciences journal; the copyright policies of the Behavioral and Brain Sciences journal; and a confirmation from the Behavioral and Brain Sciences journal that they've accepted Jerome Barkow as a commentator, based on the recommendation of Ashley Montagu, and gives him a deadline for the submission of his comments.
