Biographical history

John C. Dinning is a Canadian costume and set designer, trained at the National Theatre School of Canada. He has worked across the country, including at the Vancouver Playhouse, Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects, Citadel Theatre, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Shaw Festival, Theatre New Brunswick, The Piggery, the Saidye Bronfman Centre, Centaur Theatre, and Neptune Theatre. He has also designed for the Grands Ballets Canadiens.

Leigh Ann Vardy is a lighting designer born and based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has worked as a designer for theatre and dance companies across Canada, including the Globe Theatre, Neptune Theatre, Buddies in Bad Times, Great Canadian Theatre Company, Soulpepper Theatre, Factory Theatre, The Segal Centre, Centaur Theatre, The Stratford Shakespeare Festival, and the Charlottetown Festival, among many others. She has won five Robert Merritt Awards for design and has been nominated for the Siminovitch Prize. She is an instructor and coach at the National Theatre School of Canada.

File contains original and annotated copies of set and light designs for Neptune Theatre's production of "Beauty and the Beast," directed by Ron Ulrich and designed by John Dinning (set) and Leigh Ann Vardy (lights). Eleanor Creelman was the technical director. The file includes several coloured drawings of the props and set.
