During their visit, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip had tea with the Prowses on their farm near Brackley. The Prowses, an average Island family, won a Rural Beautification award for improvements on their property. The royal couple also toured the Sherwood frozen food plant and attended a record-breaking heat of harness racing at the race track.
