File consists of a typed loose leaf draft copy of James Morrison's graduate thesis "Jos Plateau Societies: Internal Change and External Influences, 1800-1935", a thesis in the Department of History, submitted to the Faculty of Arts in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy of the University of Ibadan.

The file consists of notes on secondary sources, and typed chapters from James Morrison's thesis. The notes on secondary sources cover a range of topics and focus on different regions in Africa, mostly Nigeria, Sudan, and east Africa. The two typed chapters are titled "Conclusion" and "Sources", the "Conclusion" is annotated and "Sources" includes information on primary oral history sources.
