Biographical history

Isaac Rayne was a sea captain in Nova Scotia. He was married in 1808 to Jane Elizabeth Collupy, with whom he had a son, George Rayne, who also became a captain.

Custodial history

Records were donated by Henry Redden to Dalhousie University Archives in accession (1993-064) on December 1, 1993. Further custodial history is unknown.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of primarily of Captain Isaac Rayne and Captain's George Rayne's personal records regarding their private life, including two locks of Captain George Rayne's hair, correspondence, receipts of payments, family records, and others textual records. Fonds also contains personal records of Robert W. Rayne and others family members.
