Biographical history

Eleanor King is an artist who uses music, sound art, improvisation and other mediums to create her art. King has exhibited nationally and internationally. Her education includes a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University in 2001. King became associated with the Centre for Art Tapes in 2005 because their video recording “Soundroam” which became a part of the centre’s tape collection.

Custodial history

The tape was donated to the Dalhousie University Archives in 2013 by the Centre for Art Tapes.

Scope and content

Items consist of an artist talk with Eleanor King on September 14, 2011. The video produced was a part of the September Artist Talk series and is of a discussion on King's past work including a recent Local Artist in Residence project which involved scanned typewriter ribbon and video.
