History

Dougald MacGillivray was a founder and financial and literary supporter of The Dalhousie Review. He was born in Collingwood, Ontario, and moved to Halifax in 1906 to take up an appointment as manager of the Halifax branch of the Canadian Bank of Commerce. He was also the president and founder of the Canadian Club in Halifax. He died on 9 August 1937.
