Biographical history

Alexander Sutherland Murray was a Presbyterian minister. His sister, Florence Jessie Murray, was a medical missionary in Korea. Born in 1895 at Pictou Landing, Nova Scotia, to Reverend Robert and Isabel Murray, he was educated at Dalhousie, living at Pine Hill residence and receiving his BA in 1920. He served in the Maritimes and as a chaplain to immigrants at the ports of Montreal and Halifax during the 1950s and 1960s. He died in 1984.

Custodial history

Materials were donated to Dalhousie University Archives by Olive Koyama on November 23, 1994 after they were found by Koyama while she was settling the estate of Anna (Murray) Dike Musgrave. Further information about the custodial history is unknown.
