Angeles Lopez on workers' rights in Maquiladora plants in Mexico and the North American Free Trade Agreement

File is an audio reel containing a speech by Mexican trade unionist Angeles Lopez. Lopez spoke in Halifax about the effect of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) on women workers in the Maquiladora factories of northern Mexico. The translation is by Madeline Schwartz. The recording aired March 5, 1993 on The Evening Affair, CKDU's evening public affairs program.

Ross is a professor and researcher at the Center of International Relations in the faculty of social and political sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. This recording of her talk was made November 5, 1992 and is in two parts (14 min., 13 sec. and 11 min., 34 sec.). Item is a catalogue for an exhibition of Mayan art organized and circulated by Rothmans of Pall Mall Canada Ltd. Th exhibition was presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery from April 15 to May 13, 1979.

Catalogue contains an exhibition itinerary, statement by Miguel Alemán (Presidente, Consejo Nacional de Turismo, Estados Unidos Mexicanos), an introduction by Agustin Barrios Gomez (Ambassador of México), and a statement by Manuel Barbachano Ponce, b&w and colour photographs of pottery, sculpture, objects, and other artworks, and a glossary and acknowledgements. Catalogue also contains text describing Mayan culture, history, and crafting techniques.

File consists of a catalogue a travelling exhibition of three notable Mexican artists, José Luis Cuevas, Xavier Esqueda, and Pedro Friedeberg, sponsored and presented by Rothmans of Pall Mall Canada, Ltd. The exhibition was presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery in June 1973.

Catalogue contains a forward by Lawrence Urrutia (Director adjoint, La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art), an introduction by Berta Taracena (President, Mexican section, International Association of Art Critics), profiles on each of the three artists, colour images of their works, a catalogue of artworks in the exhibition, and tour schedule.
