Thomas McCulloch collection

Collection contains both original records and reproductions of materials related to Reverend Thomas McCulloch. Items include a glass plate etching of McCulloch, microfilm copies of his books, a sample of his shorthand, a ticket to a lecture given by McCulloch, and correspondence. The collection also includes a microform copy of a thesis written by a Dalhousie student about McCulloch.

Collection consists of letters written by and to Joseph Howe and a legal document concerning land set aside for the Jamaican Maroons.

George Burden map collection

Collection contains three historic maps collected by George Burden. The maps depict Cape Breton and Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. Burden acquired the maps from Zwicker's Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Shipping Reference Collection

The Shipping Reference Collection incorporates virtually all miscellanous shipping records and reference material that were accessioned as part of "MS-8-Ref." A large portion of the collection consists of reference files on various vessels and shipping lines. A card-catalogue index known as "Master and Mates" provides references to microfilmed vessel papers, trade records, registers, and other related materials. The collection also includes photographs, slides, and published materials such as the Lloyd's Register of Ships.
