File comprises letters from Marshall Saunders, enclosing a sermon, "The Value of Higher Education from a Woman's Point of View," and his own "Report of a committee headed by G. Fred Pearson regarding dissatisfaction with Carleton Stanley, made to the Board of Governors of Dalhousie University, May 21, 1932."
File consists of three letters to participants in the 1934 American Seminar, a lecture series initiated by American Protestant leader Sherwood Eddy to introduce American thinkers to political, economic and ecclesiastical European leaders. The letters describe the content of film images available for use by seminarians in illustrated lectures.
File contains Lily Fraser Cameron's scrapbook created from her attendance at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. It contains a combination of: - NSAC commencement booklets from 1 May 1940, 30 April 1941, 29 April 1942, 22 April 1943. - Black and White photographs - Newspaper clippings relating to NSAC academics and sports, as well as WWII - Personal letters, postcards, and greeting cards from family and friends - NSAC "winged" crest (sew/iron-on) - Dried flowers and dance cards - Acceptance letter dated May 29142 from the McDonald College of McGill University (stating her as the first female NSAC graduate to attend the agriculture program at McDonald College).
File contains a photograph album of photographs taken at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College taken and collected by the donor Ed Munroe, [NSAC] class of 1941. There are 34 b&w photographs of student life on the NSAC campus, there are also and invitations to the 1940 and 1941 NSAC graduation dances.
File contains a poultry plucking machine patent that was issued on July 4th, 1944 to Angus Edward Banting, Truro, NS. Banting signed all his rights, title and interest of the invention over to the Department of Agriculture and Marketing of the Province of Nova Scotia.
File contains bulletins on meat and dairy markets sent from the company office in Winnipeg, Manitoba to salesmen in the Eastern Sales Division. File also contains memorandums sent to L.W. Morgan from the company office in Winnipeg.
File contains 15 drawings of the ceremonial mace designed in 1949 by Chasteney Holbourne Saunders, former head of the Department of Anatomy. The mace was carved in oak, decorated with silver and enamel, and measured 1.4 metres in length. First used in the 1950 convocation, the mace was retired in 1919 when the university introduced the "New Dawn Staff of Place and Belonging" as its ceremonial object.
There is one full-scale drawing in ink and three reduced reproductions mounted on board. The remainder are rough sketches and detail drawings in pencil of the emblems and figures that Saunders employed to represent maritime traditions and the historical significance of Dalhousie’s service to the Atlantic provinces.
File contains five notebooks containing meeting minutes and financial records of the Dalhousie Co-vettes. A sixth is labeled "Refreshment Book" and doubled as an address book, containing members' contact information as well a spreadsheet indicating the names of those who provided sweets, sandwiches, squares, cookies etc. each month in 1957 and 1958.
File contains two microfilm reels with ca. 550 pages of records from the Malagash Salt Mine Worker's Union and the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union, Local 9-823 (1937-1946; 1958-1968). Materials include Malagash Salt Mine Workers' Union minute books (1946-1959), the union charter (1941), collective agreements (1943, 1948, 1950-1954, 1956-1957, 1959, 1961-1967). Microfilm also contains collective agreements of the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union (1969-1973), the constitution of the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union (1970) and miscellaneous papers (1952-1972).
File contains four pages of five traditional songs sung to Edward Charles Feltmate during his childhood in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Includes the text to the following songs: "The Cold Winters Night", "The Steam Packet Soverign [sic]", "The Gay Spanish Maid", "The Flying Cloud", and "Sable Island: Graveyard of the Atlantic" (written by an attendant of the [Sable Island] Life Saving Station).
File comprises four letters sent from Fred Thompson to John Bell between July and October, 1976. The letters provide a recounting of Thompson's time in Halifax as a labourer and labour activist and reveal an ongoing discussion between Bell and Thompson regarding labour issues and labour history.
File comprises a transcript of an interview with F.C. Wightman and notes from George D. Noiles on Leon Trotsky's month at the Amherst Internment Camp during World War One.
File contains 7 photographs of C.A. Douglas' retirement. They are all stamped "Photo by Pridham Studio, Truro, N.S.". Charles Douglas was Deputy Minister of the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Marketing. Douglas also served as Assistant Agricultural Representative in Pictou, Agricultural Representative in Hants County, Assistant Director and, later, Director of Extension, and as Director of Livestock. File contains two scrapbooks, or memory books, created to reflect the activities of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association from 1952 to 1984. The auxiliary dismantled in the mid 1980s; former member Joan MacAulay created these scrap books in May of 2014 to acknowledge the work and friendship auxiliary members had.
File contains a record regarding a project completed by the students Pegi Holtz, Sandra Halliday, Darcy John, Berit Erickson, and Joanne Doucet, in Professor Amey's marketing course for the Student Association, Dalhousie School of Library and Information Studies relating to the proposed closure of the school.

File consists of genealogical notes on the Rettie family of Truro, Nova Scotia, with a particular focus on Captain Alexander Rose Rettie and the wreck of his vessel "Forest Chief." Also included are a family tree, photocopies of research correspondence, and historical newspaper accounts.
