The collection contains a variety of theatre and music programs from across Canada, with a special emphasis on events held in and around Halifax, Nova Scotia. There are also programs from England, United States, France and Russia. Programs date from 1937 to 1986 with a gap between 1941 and 1950.
Fonds is primarily comprised of artistic programs from musical and theatrical events held predominantly in Nova Scotia, specifically in the Halifax area. Fonds also includes some music school syllabi, event competition forms and regulations, newspaper clippings, and correspondence.
File contains photographs of the Henry Hicks Building exterior; the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium; a performance of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra; lectures, classes, and meetings in the Dalhousie Arts Centre; hallways and lounges in the Dalhousie Arts Centre; a music listening room in the Dalhousie Arts Centre; someone playing the pipe organ in the Dalhousie Arts Centre; a Christmas craft fair in the Dalhousie Arts Centre; the Dalhousie Art Gallery; and a storage area in the Dalhousie Arts Centre.
