Richard C. Weldon fonds

Fonds consists primarily of correspondence from the period during which Weldon was a Member of Parliament, and includes personal and business letters. There are also telegrams, bills, invoices, and a geometry textbook from Weldon's studies at Mount Allison. Also included are prints of family photographs, circa 1870's-1890's.

Fonds consists of notes of lectures on logic delivered by James Ross at the Theological Seminary in Truro, Nova Scotia (1860-1861) and on Moral Philosophy at Dalhousie College (1863-1864), as well as certificates of attendance from the 1860s and a photograph of Thomas McCulloch and others.

Alfred Dickie fonds

This fonds consists of records which document the personal and business activities and interests of Alfred Dickie and, to a lesser extent, those of his immediate family and employees. Although the records span Dickie’s lifetime, few relate to his childhood, education, or final two years of life. Some items, in particular those concerning his export lumber business or his travels, derive from various places in North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and South Africa, though by far the majority are found to be located within Nova Scotia.

The fonds includes correspondence, business and administrative records, speeches, photographs, legal documents, and plans, among other materials. Records are chiefly in English, although a very small portion are in French, Norwegian, Finnish, Spanish, and Italian.

Fonds primarily consists of records documenting Roome's military career and research interest. The records span World War One and World War Two and include correspondence (1918-1919 and 1942-1946); war diaries (1915-1918 and 1940-1944); addresses and lectures (1928-1949); ca. 165 black and white photographs, mostly of Mesopotamia during World War I and of training exercises during World War II in Debert and Tracadie, Nova Scotia; photographs and postcards of Dalhousie; maps of England, France, and Mesopotamia from World War I; print materials which include newspaper clippings and copies of Canadian military magazines; research notes on the American Civil War; papers while Deputy Adjutant General (1943-1945) regarding awards, transfers, discharges, etc.; and miscellaneous other papers.

File also contains a facsimile family photograph of the Dickson children: Jennifer, Elizabeth, Marjorie, Ross, and Charles.
