The other contains similar materials dating from Goodman's graduation and a few years following.

Fonds consists of records relating to Renton's personal life as well as his acting and teaching careers. The personal papers include files on specific actors, athletics, clippings and publications, festivals and workshops, financial records, Portus Theatre Productions (the production company he founded), school-related theatrical education materials, committee work, unions, associations, and a variety of other subjects. Correspondence includes letters to, from, and about Renton and are primarily theatre-related. The scripts were accumulated by Renton throughout his career as an actor, director, and producer. Collection contains documents relating to the mercantile and shipping activities of William McMillan, McMillan was active in the business between 1893 and the early 1930's. Records include receipts, invoices and other material from other merchants he purchased or sold to, correspondence regarding the shipping of those goods, papers regarding the vessels he owned or contracted to sail the material to different parts of the world and correspondence from individuals who ran the ships. Also included are telegram notices, personal correspondence and other material. This collection also contains material from the Locke Family, the Harding Family, all in Lockeport, Nova Scotia. It also contains documents from different individuals in the town of Lockeport.

Part of the material included in this collection is the research of Trevor Bebb. He was working on the shipping history of Lockeport and the surrounding areas and as such has collected a great deal of material. Included in his papers are research notes, photocopies of shipping and customs records, diaries and logs, and printed material.

Fonds contains graphic materials collected by Lynn Murphy through her association with the Gay and Lesbian Association (GALA) of Nova Scotia, and participation in organizing Halifax Pride marches and parades, in addition to other LGBT initiatives in Halifax. Fond contains one series of posters, banners, and flags produced or collected by GALA for use in Pride marches and parades, as well as other political demonstrations, GALA meetings, and dances, or relating to event held at Rumours bar. Fonds also contains posters for LGBT-related events in Halifax, posters for LGBT films, posters encouraging safe-sex practices and political activism, as well as Pride Guide mockups from 1996 and 1998.

Waldren Studios Photograph Collection

Collection contains over 55,000 glass plate negatives, film negatives, and prints from the Waldren Studios of New Glasgow and Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The majority of these negatives are portraits, nearly all of which are identified and dated. A number of the portraits represent some of the earliest photos of Black Nova Scotians from Pictou, Antigonish and Guysborough counties. Many of the remaining photos are local scenes, a few of which were taken in New Glasgow before the fire in 1874 which devastated the town. The collection contains photographs that depict show coal mining, shipbuilding and other local industries in action. Portraits of family groups, sports teams, social clubs and school groups are also well represented.

Stephen Archibald's student protest photographs

Collection comprises 34 mounted photographs of political demonstrations and protest marches organized by Dalhousie students between 1967 and 1970. The photographs were taken by students for the Dalhousie Gazette and/or Pharos yearbook and were compiled and printed by Stephen Archibald for a show in the Student Union Building in Spring 1971. The scope and content notes for the images are drawn from the background information provided by Stephen Archibald, who writes: "The pictures were taken by young men in their late teens and early 20s who had no formal training, but who were drawn to photography because it provided a visual, aesthetic outlet that was missing from their academic university life. We also had no particular political beliefs or insight. The editors at the Gazette were left-leaning during this period so it is not surprising that we were assigned to photograph demonstrations that were organized, in large part or totally, by Dal radicals."

The photographs were printed and mounted by Stephen Archibald on F5 high-contrast paper to exaggerate their graphic nature, and printed full frame, which gives them a black border. As he explains in his notes, this was part of the contemporary aesthetic, ensuring that the viewer was aware that the images were composed in the frame, with nothing edited or cropped out. Most of the photographs are mounted, and the dimensions provided in the physical descriptions do not include the mount board.
