This fonds consists of four letters sent from Fred Thompson to John Bell between July and October, 1976. Fred Thompson was an organizer for the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), editor, historian, and publisher. He was a central figure in the IWW for many years. The letters provide a recounting of Thompson's time in Halifax as a labourer and labour activist and reveal an ongoing discussion between Bell and Thompson regarding labour issues and labour history. The fonds contains no outgoing correspondence from John Bell to Fred Thompson.
Fonds contains music manuscripts and published scores, photographs, and autograph letters written by well-known composers such as Jacques Offenbach, Giuseppe Verdi, and John Philip Sousa.
Through his work as a music critic and journalist in Toronto, Ontario and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Logan communicated with many prominent Canadian musicians in the early twentieth century. Many of the scores, photographs, and autographs included in this collection are a result of his contributions to music criticism. The music and theatre programs are frequently annotated with comments for reviews, and most of his correspondence with musicians and actors relates to his work as a music and theatre critic. Some of the scores were given to Logan as gifts from performers while others were sent to him for review or publication in newspapers. The fonds includes several manuscripts of songs by Edith Jessie Archibald, a prominent social activist and suffragist in Halifax.
Letters sent to Logan also concern his poetic contributions, and the manuscript of one of his books, "Preludes: Sonnets and other Verses," (1906) is part of the fonds.

The archival fonds consists of letters, journals, business records, photographs and artifacts relating to John Edward McIntyre's career as an agriculturalist between 1920 and 1974. He worked for the New Brunswick Department of Agriculture, the Potash Company of Canada, Canadian National Railways and for many years was Secretary / Treasurer of the Maritime Fertilizer Council.
This fonds consists of pamphlets, books, and thesis associated with grass and pastures, as well as records and teaching notes associated with the class History of Agriculture taught by Mr. Shuh at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in the early 1970's.
