The report was produced by Deborah Odhiambo, a producer of From These Roots, CKDU's radio program on African-Canadian history and issues. The report was recorded April 25, 1991 and aired April 26, 1991 on Title Waves, a CKDU radio program. It was rebroadcast April 24, 1991 [sic] at 12:15 pm and June 6, 1995 on The Evening Affair, CKDU's evening public affairs program.

Hosted by Carol Millett of CKDU's radio program Women's Time, the interview contains recordings of her songs "Emancipation Day" from Africville and "Oh Freedom" from Sistership. The interview was aired in November 1986 and was rebroadcast March 8, [1987] at 3 pm; March 18, [1987]at 6 pm; May 30, [1987] at 4 pm; and November 25, 1997 on The Evening Affair, CKDU's evening public affairs program.
