The Joyce Barkhouse fonds consists of published and unpublished manuscripts of books, short stories, articles, and other writings, as well as photocopies and clippings of published materials, personal and professional correspondence, photographs, newspaper clippings, promotional material, and other material collected and created by Joyce Barkhouse.

File contains one mounted photograph of schoolchildren taught by H.E. (Harold Edwin) Killam (1878-1957) when he was 16 years old. Killam is seated in the centre of the photograph. The children of varying ages are posed for a group shot, and the photograph is taken outside.

Snow and The Chickadee : [poems]

File contains two poems written by Joyce Barkhouse. The first, entitled "Snow," includes a handwritten and typescript copy and was written while Joyce was living in Montreal. The second, entitled "The Chickadee" was written for her granddaughter, Cece, and emailed to her daughter, Janet.

The file also includes a copy of "Obedience" by Isaac Watts (1674-1748).

Smallest Rabbit and related documents and photographs

File contains a copy of "Smallest Rabbit" by Joyce Barkhouse and illustrated by Barbara Martin, published by Lancelot Press, along with correspondence regarding the book and photographs of Barkhouse and Martin with the book. The file also contains a copy of Barkhouse's speech about the book, a partial draft, and order form.
