The Importance of Being Earnest

This subseries contains the records for Neptune Theatre's production of The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. Cast included: Chilina Kennedy (Cecily Cardew); David Leyshon (John Worthing, J.P.); John Dartt (Rev. Canon Chasuble, D.D.); Elizabeth Richardson (Miss Prism, Governess); Marla McClean (Hon. Gwendolen Fairfax); Michael Therriault (Algernon Moncrieff); Vanessa Walton-Bone (Lady Bracknell); Jack Wynters (Lane, Manservant); and Robbie O'Neill (Merriman, Butler). Production crew included: George Pothitos as the artistic director; Jane Butler Creaser, the stage manager; Sean Mulcahy, set and costume design and Kevin Fraser, lighting design. Sweeney Todd ran from January to February 17, 2013.

Subseries contains handwritten and typescript drafts of Budge Wilson's short story anthology "The Leaving." The anthology contains the following short stories: "The Metaphor," "The Diary," "Mr. Manuel Jenkins," "Lysandra's Poem," "My Mother and Father," "The Leaving," "My Cousin Clarette," "The Reunion," "Waiting," "Be-ers and Doers," and "The Pen Pal."

The long wait

Subseries contains handwritten and typescript drafts of Budge Wilson's book "The Long Wait," previously titled "The Incredible Wait." Subseries includes Budge Wilson's ideas for illustrations for the book and a typescript of its French translation, "Une Incroyable Attente," translated by Florence Treadwell.

The Messenger

Subseries contains drafts of Wendy Lill's play, Messenger, which was inspired by Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People. Set in Canada in 1990 and 2015, this "memory play" addresses issues of climate change and politics. Lill developed the concept during her three weeks as the resident playwright at the National Arts Centre Company's retreat, The Ark, on Fogo Island, Newfoundland.

The Mulgrave Road

Subseries consists of two folders relating to Charles Bruce's 1951 book of poetry, "The Mulgrave Road," including correspondence and reviews.
