Fonds contains materials related to Janet Conners' advocacy work for recipients of tainted blood products and other persons with HIV/AIDS. Janet's and her husband, Randy Conners, contracted HIV when Randy, a hemophiliac, was treated with infected blood. After publicly announcing Randy's diagnosis in 1991, the Conners provided testimony to the Royal Commission of Inquiry on the Blood System in Canada [the Krever Inquiry], and became advocates for persons living with HIV/AIDS. Janet revealed her HIV positive status upon Randy's death in 1994. Materials in fonds include legal documents, correspondence, speaking notes, press releases, day planners, awards and honorary degrees, and photographs.

Item consists of a photograph taken by Peter Dykhuis in August 2010, of the sculpture "20th Century Student" by Reg Dockrill. The sculpture was erected on the corner of Uni­versity Avenue and Seymour Street in 1968 and removed in 2012 after an engineering report con­cluded that the six-metre-high steel sculpture had corroded on the inside and was “structurally damaged beyond repair."

Photographs of librarians, library staff, and the MacRae Library building on the Nova Scotia Agricultural College campus

File contains photographs of the interior and exterior of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College library that was built in 1982, and 1983 library staff and librarians. There are also portraits of past librarians and students.
From 1913-1939 the NSAC library collection was housed on bookshelves of a small room adjacent to the office of the Professor of English.
From 1939-1968 Principal Lyman Chapman improved the library arrangements by rearranging space previously occupied by the janitor’s quarters on the top floor of the administrative building, later named Cumming Hall; they provided tables, newspapers, magazines, books, reference books and textbooks.
Between 1968-1982 the library was housed in the Cox Institute, the library was given space to the west of the stairwell on the lower level. The library added a microfiche reader during this time.
In the 1980s a new building for library services became the first priority when the degree program was approved. Official opening of the new library was graduation day May 1983, and the library was named the MacRae library in 1990.

File also contains printed photographs of Catherine at the Library of Parliament and the 2008 Governor General's Award winners. Catherine Banks won Governor General's Award for English-language Drama for her play Bone Cage.

Fonds contains the personal papers, photographs and sound recordings of Barbara Hinds. The personal papers primarily comprise research material, article drafts, and newspaper clippings related to Hinds' journalism career, but also correspondence, research notes, diaries, maps and manuscripts. Sound recordings were largely created during Hinds' travels in the Canadian Arctic and include several interviews. Photographs include prints, slides, negatives and proof sheets, and were mostly taken in the Canadian Arctic, but also include research and personal photographs.

Materials include the project's environmental impact statement, transcripts from scoping meetings and public hearings, records of the Joint Review Panel, reference and research materials, correspondence, maps and photographs, and other records. The series provides a comprehensive record of the activities of the Joint Review Panel, which was made up by Jill Grant, Robert Fournier and Gunter Muecke.

Fonds contains photographs of LGBT-related events in Halifax, taken by Dr. Brenda Hattie. Photographs depict one of the first same-sex marriages to take place Nova Scotia, officiated in July 2005 at Safe Harbour Metropolitan Community Church by the church's pastor, Reverend Darlene Young; and the 2008 Community Hero Awards, organized by the Nova Scotia Rainbow Action Project. Fonds also contains one photograph of Dr. Hattie and Reverend Young following a Safe Harbour service.

The event was hosted by Cape Breton-based comedian Bette MacDonald, and honoured Halifax-based LGBT activist Daniel MacKay for his service to Nova Scotia's LGBT community.
